Touchscreen Registration Survey

Business Franchise & Opportunity Expos are held annually in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch providing attendees interested in purchasing a business a wide range of business opportunities and expertise.

Attendees visiting the expos provide their registration details including:

• Name and contact details
• Demographics
• How they heard about the expo
• Type and value of business they are looking to purchase

The expos have been conducted for fifteen years and traditionally, attendees have completed a paper-based registration survey. Their information has then been entered manually into spreadsheets and collated for analysis.
Reduce workload using touchscreen registration surveys at trade shows
In 2007, the paper and pen questionnaire was converted to a self-administered Digivey touchscreen survey. The survey was streamlined with invisible skipping and branching programming, enabling respondents to only view questions applicable to them.

The objectives of the touch screen registration survey:

• To streamline and automate the process
• To improve the quality of the information with automation and logic programming

The touchscreen registration trade show survey was successfully used at all three Business Franchise & Opportunity expos around New Zealand. At the entrance to each expo, ELO touchscreen computers were set up with signage directing attendees to complete the self-administered surveys. The average take-time to complete the registration survey was under 2.5 minutes.

For the first time in 2007 we used touch screens for our registrations from Touchscreen Marketing & Research (these are either portable or stand alone touch screens like a PC monitor).

Everything was just so well done from start to end. Rachel Wells, the director, was hands on and very accommodating. She was extremely efficient in picking up our requirements for the surveys and creating questions to meet our needs.

The touchscreen process was enjoyed by the visitor and appeared more professional than the paper or manual version we had used for many years.
